Zoom In-Car App Design
In partnership with Chery and Zoom, our design team was given the task of designing a Zoom app to build into Chery’s in-car infotainment system. This means following the current Zoom design in other platforms but creating a product that meets the requirements of auto-HMI design ergonomics. Also, this is the only Zoom app custom-designed for in-car infotainment systems other than Tesla.

Zoom In-Car App Version 1.0 (2022)
Based on Chery’s requirements, the first delivery version of the Zoom in-car app only supports audio meetings and has limited functions. By applying Zoom design guidelines with a driver-focused interface in mind, we design the Zoom in-car app 1.0 version.

Zoom In-Car App Version 2.0 (2023)
Based on the first iteration of the Zoom in-car app design, we want to add the video meeting feature and improve the overall design to better match the Zoom app on other platforms. I was in charge of the UI design for the new version and I added the video meeting feature for both speaker and gallery view, the calendar feature on the home page, a driving restitute mode, and the overall layout to meet Zoom design guidelines.

After finishing the 2.0 UI design, with the help of our development team, we tested the new design features and its ergonomics in car to see whether it met our requirements and finished the production by the end of 2023.
